Woody Ortego is a native of Eunice, LA and earned a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from the University of Louisiana—Lafayette. After earning his Doctorate of Physical Therapy degree from Texas Woman’s University-Houston, he moved back to the Acadiana area to be closer to family and friends and joined the staff at Precision Rehabilitation in September 2012. In 2016, Woody furthered his education by obtaining his Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapy (FAAOMPT) certification.
Woody decided he wanted to be a physical therapist at a very young age. His father was in a vehicle accident and was paralyzed from the neck down. Woody also attended physical therapy due to multiple sports injuries. Both he and his father’s experiences planted the desire for Woody to become a physical therapist. His personal experiences allow him to relate to his patients’ and understand a lot of the pain and frustrations they may be going through. His education allows him to help patients with their own injuries and improve their quality of life.
