Where is My Ear Pain Coming From?
Pain in the inner ear (also known as the vestibular system) can be caused by injuries such as concussion, as well as specific conditions including vestibular neuritis or vestibular migraine. Disorders in the vestibular system can also lead to symptoms such as dizziness, vertigo, and balance problems.
Physical therapy can play a significant role in the management of vertigo and ear-related balance issues, as well as alleviating pain.

What & How We Treat
Vertigo
Vertigo is often caused by BPPV (benign paroxysmal positional vertigo), which is a condition where tiny crystals in the inner ear become dislodged and cause a false sense of movement. Our therapists can utilize a technique called canalith repositioning maneuvers (such as the Epley maneuver) which repositions the crystals and helps to relieve symptoms.
Vestibular Rehabilitation
This specific form of physical therapy targets the vestibular system – enhancing its adaptability and relieving symptoms such as imbalance and dizziness.
Muscle, Joint & Posture Issues
Factors such as joint stiffness, muscle weakness, and posture issues can be addressed by our physical therapists to help relieve your balance problems.
Exercises and Education
Our therapists can combine targeted exercises, manual therapy, and patient education to improve your ability to maintain balance and move confidently. This will reduce the impact of vertigo and associated symptoms.
