What & How We Treat
Assessment and Diagnosis
Our therapists begin with a comprehensive evaluation of your posture, gait, muscle strength, and range of motion in the joint – as well as any other factors that may be contributing to your foot or ankle pain.
Strengthening Exercises
We prescribe targeted exercises designed to strengthen the muscles around your foot and ankle. Strengthening these muscles can result in improved stability, better support to the joints, and pain relief.
Flexibility and Range of Motion Exercises
Our therapists prescribe stretching exercises designed to improve stability and increase range of motion in the joints. This promotes improved joint function while also helping to prevent stiffness.
Balance and Proprioception Training
Poor balance and proprioception (awareness of body position in space) can often be contributing factors to foot and ankle problems. Your therapist may prescribe specific exercises to improve these skills – while also reducing the risk of injuries and falls.
Manual Therapy
Our therapists utilize hands-on techniques including joint mobilization and manipulation to increase joint mobility while also reducing stiffness. In addition, soft tissue manipulation can help relieve muscle tightness and discomfort.
Gait Analysis
We analyze your walking pattern (gait) to help identify imbalances and abnormalities. This allows your therapist to provide specific exercises or recommendations that will correct these issues – while also reducing stress on your ankle and foot.
