Michael Smith earned a Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Texas Woman’s University-Houston in 2017. He is a native of Lafayette, LA and earned a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology: Human Movement from Louisiana State University. After graduation, he moved back home to be closer to family and friends and joined the staff at Precision. In 2022, Micheal furthered his education by obtaining his Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapy (FAAOMPT) certification.
Being raised in a family of healthcare providers, he knew he wanted to work in a profession that made a difference in people’s lives. Michael first became interested in physical therapy after sustaining a severe ankle injury in junior high while playing basketball. It quickly became evident to him that good physical therapy can help provide a faster return to normal activities. He enjoys spending one-on-one time with his patients, being able to provide hands-on intervention and having a positive impact on their lives. This drives him to continue to develop into the best possible physical therapist he can be.
