We recommend seeking treatment even while your pain is occurring. This can help your therapist better identify your issue and develop a treatment plan.

This will depend on your treatment program and what your therapist recommends. Some activities may be safe to do while others may slow your progress or risk further injury.

This depends on your insurance status. At Precision, we accept most private and commercial insurances. For a better idea of what your financial responsibility will be, we can check your insurance benefits ahead of your first visit.

At Precision, a doctor’s referral is not needed to receive treatment. You can walk in and schedule a visit at any time. However, we do prefer to work directly with patients’ primary care physicians to align treatment with their recommendations and insights.

Remember—you always have a choice in where you receive treatment. If you’d prefer Precision, you don’t need a doctor’s referral to schedule your first visit.

On your first visit, your therapist will evaluate your physical condition to determine what treatment will be best. This may include an assessment of posture, gait, range of motion, strength, tissue abnormalities, and joint movement. From there, your team will develop a plan for further treatment sessions.

For your first visit, you can expect to be here for at least one hour. Once your treatment program is in place, your therapist can give you an estimate for how long your therapy sessions will take. Generally, sessions can last anywhere from 45 minutes to an hour.

Wear loose, comfortable clothing with sneakers for your sessions. We also suggest avoiding dangling jewelry or tight outfits that restrict movement as these may hinder your therapy activities.

The length of time that you will need to see results and heal will depend on many factors. As you continue your sessions, your therapist will be able to give you an estimate of your progress and the timeframe needed to complete the program.

This is likely not needed, unless directed by your doctor. In most cases, your therapist can evaluate you without the need for imaging. If they think there is an underlying problem, they can contact your doctor to request further investigation.

Yes, our therapists work directly with primary care physicians. Your physician will get a copy of your evaluation and plan of care. They can also expect weekly, bi-weekly, and/or monthly reports that highlight your progress and any next steps needed.

Physical therapy may temporarily increase your pain during treatment. This is completely normal, and taking pain medication before therapy sessions may make treatment more comfortable.

In most cases, yes. Caretakers such as designated family members, significant others, or assisted living support personnel are welcome to attend your session with you. However, we ask that patients refrain from bringing children to their personal sessions if possible. Left unattended, kids could pose safety issues for therapists or other patients.
